Outback adventures

Hello there!

It took a while, but here's a short summary of what I've been up to in the Aussie Outback. After leaving Broome we drove to Kunanurra where we arrived the 24th of April. On our way north we stopped at Geikie Gorge National Park where we took a short walk in the heat. The next day I took a scenic flight over the famous "Bungle Bungles", lake Argyle and the Argyle diamond mine. But unfortunately, the pilot wouldn't land at the mine...
Our next stop was Litchfield National Park. Here we camped for the night, checked out some huge termite hills and swam in some waterfalls. After our visit to the park we started heading south to Alice Springs. At Mataranka we stopped briefly to swim in some (very smelly) hot springs.
In Alice Springs we decided not to book an organised tour but to travel to Uluru and King's Canyon in our own cars instead. So we got in our cars and drove to Curtin Springs, a free campsite near the actual park. We were glad that we didn't book a tour because it rained all day the next day. We did not leave the car all day! Some desert this is.... :)
The next day the weather cleared up and we went to see Uluru, we also walked trough the Valley of the Winds (at the Olga's). We came back the next day and Leon and me decided to climb Uluru. This turned out to be a very strenuous climb, but the view was more than worth it. Our next destination was King's Canyon were we went for another walk :)
After all this walking in the Outback it was time to drop Pascal off in Alice Springs where he would catch his flight to Sydney before travelling on to South East Asia. After saying goodbye to Leon and Mieke I went to Townsville to have my car checked and then to Cairns where I hoped to sell it.

I'm sorry it took me this long to update my site, but I've been extremely busy lately. I think the stories will have to be a little shorter from now on.
