Sydney to Cobram and peaches

Hi there!

Time for another long awaited story.
After saying goodbye to Peter, Paula and the rest of the family I left Sydney to go to Wollongong. There I visited my friend from uni and his girlfriend before moving on to Canberra. In Canberra I went and visited those attractions that I didn't get to see during my first visit to the city. Among other things, I went to see the Old Parliament House and the Deep Space Communications Centre Canberra. I also visited a jazz concert in the botanical gardens where I met a group of very nice locals who asked me to join them for the evening. We talked about the country and scuba diving while eating very nice snacks that the ladies made for the concert. After my (second) visit to the nations capital I went to Albury/Wodonga in the hope of finding a job. After joining 6 (!) employment agencies I finally gave up and went looking for a place to camp. The next day I finally found a job in Cobram and I was told that I could start working after the weekend. Unfortunately when I got to Cobram the position had already been filled. I was becoming increasingly agitated and decided to just drive to some of the orchards and ask for work. This proved to be more successful and at the end of the day I did get a job.
Since that day I've been picking peaches and nectarines. Climbing up ladders, filling my picking bag and emptying it in a big plastic bin. Even though I change employers every now and again I've got a steady supply of work and my account balance is finally rising again. :)
While I'm working in Cobram I'm camping (in my tent) near the Murray River and in the evenings I sit down and read (I joined the local library) or have a BBQ with some other backpackers.

Well, that's about it for now
